Youth Homes “Share Your Voice” Student Film Premiere
MISSOULA, MT—Celebrate and view the films of Youth Homes residents created by Tom Roy Youth Home teens, at The Roxy Theater Sunday Nov. 20th 3:30 pm
The Roxy Film Academy has teamed up with Youth Homes to bring filmmaking to the Tom Roy Youth Guidance Home with the Share Your Voice Project. The Tom Roy House is an eight-bed long-term group home that serves 16-18 year-old youth aging out of foster care who are in need of a structured-living environment while they transition into adulthood.
The Roxy’s teaching artists worked with the kids to share develop storytelling, composition, and filmmaking skills. Each student applied these skills and created their own, unique film project. Students chose from diverse genres, ranging from documentary, claymation, and soundscape to experimental technique. The resulting projects are a powerful projection of each creator’s voice.
The Roxy Film Academy is proud to premier the results of this meaningful collaboration and will be hosting a premier at The Roxy Theater Sunday November, 20th at 3:30 PM. This event is free and open to the public.
