Youth Programming

The Roxy Film Academy centers on the idea of Youth Programming through in-school residencies, Summer Camps, and other events!  Our aim is to create an intelligent and  media literate community of creators and innovators, and it starts with our youth!

RFA is in residence at Missoula area schools through the SPARK! program.  SPARK! works in collaboration with artists, classroom teachers, university staff, school administration, and volunteers to ensure that the arts are an essential part of every school day. SPARK! is a national partnership site for the Kennedy Center’s Any Given Child Initiative, a growing network of communities working to transform learning and ensure access to the arts for every public school student.

Alternative Education

This photo below is from an interview with Bonnie Tarses and Willard Alternative High School students. This interview is part of a current RFA project dealing with communication and technology “then and now” (both in the late 1950’s when Bonnie was a teenager, and modern day). This installation will premiere Friday May 12th at the Roxy Theater. Free and opened to the public!

Summer Camps 2017

We have a variety of Immersive, Exciting, Hands-on and Educational Summer Camps designed to empower students by teaching them  how to translate the content of their lives into creative visual storytelling, all while having fun and learning the medium and technology of filmmaking!
