Elementary & middle school camp: Session 1

Ages: 8-13 years old

Dates: June 15th – June 19th

Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm

Elementary & middle school camp: Session 2

Ages: 8-13 years old

Dates: June 22nd – June 26th

Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm

Lights, Camera, Action! Use the magic of movie technology to create a live-action short film. Learn valuable filmmaking skills like script creation, storyboarding, on-set processes and etiquette, selecting shot sizes, camera angles, lighting, sound design, and introductory editing to tell stories. You’ll get the chance to work as a team with like-minded peers in-front-of and behind the camera and work with professional film equipment. The camp week culminates with a film premiere at the Roxy Theater. Both session of the camp have the same teaching material, but the dates are different and the campers will be making different films.


high school camp

Ages: 13-18 years old

Dates: July 6th – July 10th & July 13th – 17th

Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm

This two-week camp is a comprehensive program where you will work as a team with like-minded peers to write, film, and edit a live-action short film. You will learn valuable filmmaking skills like screenwriting, storyboarding, on-set processes and etiquette, selecting shot sizes, camera angles, lighting, sound design, and advanced editing to tell stories. You will get the chance to work with professional film equipment and work in-front-of and behind the camera. You will also learn about film history, the current state of the film industry, meet working filmmakers and industry professionals, and learn about steps and resources for becoming a filmmaker. The first week focuses on crafting a story, pre-production processes, and filming. The second week focuses on finishing filming, editing, and post-production processes. The end of the two weeks culminates with a film premiere at the Roxy Theater. Both weeks are necessary for participating in the camp!

music video & Rock Camp

Ages: 8-16 years old

Dates: July 20th – July 24th & July 27th – 31st

Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm

This two-week camp is a collaboration with the ZACC’s Rock Camp! You’ll spend one week receiving instrument instruction, forming a band, writing an original song, and performing in front of an audience at The ZACC. In the second week, you’ll learn filmmaking skills and use professional film equipment to create a music video for your song, which will culminate in a screening at The Roxy Theater!
