Join The Roxy Film Academy in celebrating the work of some truly gifted, driven young adults!  RFA’s Fall Programming, What I Bring to the Table, is a documentary style cooking show, made for and by middle and high school students. It highlights Missoula groups working to support local, sustainable, healthy eating. What I Bring to the Table produced three documentary-style cooking shows, as well as a promotional video for the Missoula Food Co-Op’s fantastic Double SNAP Dollars program!  In addition to student work, stick around to watch the FANTASTIC documentary A Place at the Table.
A Place at the Table tells the powerful stories of three Americans who maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat. In a riveting journey that will change forever how you think about the hungry, A Place at the Table shows how the issue could be solved forever, once the American public decides—as they have in the past—that ending hunger is in the best interests of us all. This documentary illustrates the inspiration that drives the “What I Bring to the Table” project.”
One dollar of your ticket will go to support Missoula Food Co-Op’s fantastic Double SNAP Dollars program.
More about this Roxy Film Academy Project
What I Bring to the Table is a media production series for middle and high school students which aims to make healthy, globally-conscious living available to all. Students worked directly with Missoula non-profit organizations and groups which support sustainable living, healthy eating, community development, and educational media production. After reviewing relevant documentaries, students got to see where and how their food is grown, and learned how to make unique, delicious recipes with chefs from Missoula’s favorite eatery, Burns St. Bistro.
Now, at the end of the series, their work will be put on the table (literally) as part of North Missoula Community Development Corporation‘s community feed on November 22nd, 2015 – just in time for Thanksgiving! At the feed, student work will be screened for the community to enjoy (alongside meals inspired by the cooking shows!)
